In order to seek new energy-saving opportunities, Viña Concha y Toro is studying new technologies and projects for reducing their emissions, both through the consumption of fossil fuels and of electricity, according to the reality of each of its installations.
Following this line and as part of its sustainability strategy, Viña Concha y Toro in November 2009, through its Sustainable Development Area, contracted POCH Ambiental, part of the POCH Asociados S.A. group of companies, as consultants in energy efficiency which, in a first stage, will consider two wine cellars, at Peumo and Lontué.
It is expected to have the first results in the first half of 2010 and thus introduce working methods in those energy-efficiency opportunities detected by the consultants.

As part of Concha y Toro's sustainability strategy, a new energy saving project was implemented in Vespucio Plant facilities to help reduce emissions caused by electricity consumption.
Concha y Toro is using the LASERLIGHT solution proposed by the company iEnergía. This system is simple to install and improves lighting levels with energy savings of around 50%.
The implementation of LASERLIGHT lighting system will benefit the winery. Those who work in the cellar will see a change in the quality of light, while in terms of energy efficiency expectations of energy savings are even larger due to the control system and use of motion sensors. It is expected energy savings may be 70% or more. The good results so far have motivated the company to continue to work on additional energy saving proposals.
