Our sustainability philosophy leads us to work with respect for the environment and be socially equitable with our employees and the community. As a company we view our business according to the principles of sustainability. We see ourselves as an innovative and responsible company with a serious commitment to the environment.
As our own vineyards are exposed to the climate change phenomena predicted by experts, we believe that to care for the environment by minimizing our environmental impact and having sustainable production processes will be key to the future of our company and to the new generations of wine growers.
We see sustainability not as a goal in itself but rather as a different way of doing things – with an environmentally friendly attitude and a close relationship with people whether they are our employees, consumers or shareholders. We view sustainability as an ongoing process in which we have already taken important steps to develop policies that will be consistent with this great objective in the future.

We have estimated our company’s carbon footprint from 2007 to the present. As a result we have been able to determine the impact of each of the company’s areas on climate change. This analysis revealed the importance of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by transportation (of our wine exports). To achieve this, the first step we implemented was to introduce lightweight glass bottles for our Sunrise and Frontera brands in the United Kingdom. We are also carrying out energy efficiency audits in our key winemaking cellars. All these projects are part of the strategy led by Concha y Toro’s Sustainable Development Area, created in 2008.
In addition, we have launched Gran Reserva Serie Riberas, a new line of wines originating in vineyards which would seem to have greater protection from climate change. The company has also undertaken several social corporate responsibility projects.
