  • This prize recognizes the world’s best tourist establishments that continually receive good comments from people visiting them.
  • Viña Concha y Toro is the principal wine-tourist location in Latin America, with over 150,000 visitors a year.

The Wine Tourist Center of Viña Concha y Toro, located in Pirque just 45 minutes from Santiago, received the Certificate of Excellence 2012 awarded by TripAdvisor, the world’s principal on-line travellers community.

This recognition is given to the most recommended hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions in the world based on the good opinions of those visiting them. It also takes into account the number of opinions over the last 12 months, for which Concha y Toro Winery, the name by which the tour is recognized in TripAdvisor, obtained a score of 4 out of 5 on this specialized web site.

The Certificate of Excellence program does not replace the Traveller’s Choice prizes awarded by TripAdvisor to hotels but is an extension to include tourist attractions and restaurants, in addition to accommodation. “This certificate is granted to establishments around the world with high scores, from exceptional accommodation in Beijing to excellent restaurants in Boston. We want to praise these businesses for offering a great experience to travelers”, said Christine Petersen, president of  TripAdvisor for Business.

“Concha y Toro is constantly looking to create new experiences around wine and adding value to those visiting us. This distinction confirms that we are meeting the expectations of our visitors, managing to form an unforgettable experience for them”, said Isabel Guilisasti, Marketing Director of Viña Concha y Toro.

Comprehensive wine-related experience

Viña Concha y Toro is the principal wine-tourist destination in Latin America. The tour the winery offers permits a visit to the 23-hectare Victorian-style park which, together with the Melchor de Concha y Toro estate house, are testimony to the origins and 130-year tradition that the company intends to transmit through every one of its bottles.

Concha y Toro’s Wine Tourist Center offers visitors the possibility to learn about wine in the Garden of Varieties, a circuit with some 26 varieties of wine grapes.

They also have the option to attend tastings led by sommeliers in the wine bar where they can taste glasses of wine accompanied by excellent Chilean cooking, and a shop that sells all the premium wines.

The great attraction of the tour consists of learning about the legend of Casillero del Diablo through a recently-installed audiovisual show, unique to any wine-oriented tourist attraction and which therefore impresses our Chilean and foreign visitors with its high quality and modern technology.
