The British publication Positive Luxury (www.positiveluxury.com) awards distinctions to brands around the world that stand out for their commitment with sustainability in their business strategy and production processes. Once companies are invited to participate and their sustainable development strategy is investigated, the required information is analyzed and the advisory board decides which qualify, granting them the Blue Butterfly Trust Mark.

This Positive Luxury category highlights companies that have a positive impact on the environment, people and the community. Brands like H&M, Yves St. Laurent, Burberrys and Stella McCartney have been awarded this distinction which praises environmentally-friendly companies.

In the case of Concha y Toro, initiatives like light bottles, drip irrigation and the responsible use of energy were mentioned especially. Given the winery’s importance at the global level, outstanding also has been its focus on sustainability that significantly crosses its business. Together with FundaciónChileand Water Footprint Network (WFN), it was the world’s first winery to measure its water footprint. The welfare and quality of life of its personnel are also among the company’s priorities and its quality of life department generates a robust platform of services which employees access proactively. A broad range of programs have been organized in this area, including a support network that provides psychological, legal, social and financial help.
