Alfonso Larraín Santa María
Chairman
Businessman. Chairman of the board of Viña Concha y Toro since 1998, a position from which he has striven to strengthen the company’s image of prestige in the world’s main markets.
He joined the company as director in 1969 and has been chief executive (1973-1989) and vice-chairman of the board (1989-1998). Over this time, he has pursued a strong policy of opening to external markets.
In the 1980s, he also served for two periods in the presidency of the Association of Chilean Wine Exporters and Bottlers.
He is also currently a director of Viñedos Emiliana and the Santiago Chamber of Commerce
Rafael Guilisasti Gana
Vice chairman
Rafael Guilisasti Gana has been a director and vice-chairman of the board of Viña Concha y Toro since September 1998.
He has a vast and outstanding experience in the Chilean wine industry. He joined Concha y Toro in 1978 and was export manager between 1985 and 1998, a period of great international expansion.
He was president of Viñas de Chile (today Vinos de Chile), an industry association grouping together close to 85% of Chilean wine producers and which promotes Chilean wine in external markets and discusses legal and political matters that affect the industry in the country.
He is also a director of Vinnova, a company dedicated to the development of investment and innovation programs for wine production in Chile.
He is also chairman of the board of Viñedos Emiliana S.A., dedicated to the production of organic wines, a director of Frutícola Viconto, a fruit exporting company, and director of Viña Almaviva (a joint venture between Concha y Toro and Baron Philippe de Rothschild).
He became vice-president of the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (Sofofa) in 2005 and is currently elected director (2011-2015).
From late 2008 to the end of 2010, he was president of the Confederación de la Producción y del Comercio (CPC), a business association representing the most important productive sectors of Chile.
Rafael Guilisasti has a degree in history from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Francisco Marín Estévez
Agronomist
A director of the company since 1982. He is also a director of CGE Distribución (Compañía General de Electricidad), Gasco and other companies.
He has wide experience in the private sector.
Mariano Fontecilla de Santiago Concha
Career diplomat and degree in law
Has been a director of Concha y Toro in 1949 and since 1995. He is a direct descendent of the first Marqués de Casa Concha and great grandson of the company’s founder, Don Melchor Concha y Toro.
He has been the Chilean ambassador in Norway, Spain, Italy and the Vatican. He was chairman of Viñedos Emiliana from 1998 to 2004.
He is an honorary member of the Wine Industry Brotherhood of Merit for his contribution to promoting Chilean wine abroad.
He is currently also diplomatic coordinator of the Congreso Nacional.
Sergio de la Cuadra Fabres
Commercial engineer from Universidad Católica de Chile, master and PhD (c) from the University of Chicago
Director of Viña Concha y Toro since 2005, member of the company’s directors’ and audit committees.
In his professional career, he has also been director and president of Banco Central de Chile, Minister of Finance in 1982, director of the Chilean Electronic Exchange and international consultant to various Latin American countries.
He is also currently a director of other prestigious Chilean companies like Pesquera Itata S.A., Industrias Ceresita S.A., Nibsa S.A., Banco Monex and Petroquim S.A.
He is also a member of the council of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Pablo Guilisasti Gana
Commercial engineer from Universidad de Chile
Director of Viña Concha y Toro since April 2005.
He is also a director and vice chairman of Frutícola Viconto, a producer and exporter of fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables.
His professional experience includes the foreign-trade management of Viña Concha y Toro (1977-1986) and the general management of Frutícola Viconto (1986-1999). He was vice chairman of Viñedos Emiliana from 1998 to 2005.
He is also a director of Fundación para el Crecimiento Matrimonial, director of Fundación Ayuda y Esperanza, coordinator of Fondo Súmate and adviser to the Fundación Juan Pablo II.
Jorge Desormeaux Jiménez
Commercial engineer from Universidad Católica de Chile
Graduated in 1973 with the Raúl Yver Prize for the best graduate of his year. In 1974, he obtained a Fulbright Scholarship to finance his doctorate studies in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He has been a professor at the Economics Institute of the UC since 1979 in the areas of macroeconomics and the international economy. He has also been professor of the MBA program of the same university since 1999, where he has won three times the prize of the Best Professor of the Program.
At the same time, he has carried on activities as a consultant to banks, companies and international organisms since 1985.
He was a counselor and vice-president of Banco Central de Chile between 1999 and 2009.
In 2005, he became a member of the Superior Directive Council of U. Diego Portales, which position he still holds today.
In May 2010, he became an independent director of AntarChile S.A. and joined Banco de Chile as economic adviser.
In April 2011, he became an independent director of Viña Concha y Toro on behalf of the Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones (AFP) (pension fund managers).
He is also an external consultant to various Chilean companies and JP Morgan Chile.
He was named president of the Financial Supervision and Regulation Reform Commission in August 2010.
