Amidst the array of new vintages featured this year, the 2014 Don Melchor took the spotlight alongside the new limited edition wines from Biobío, the Marques de Casa Concha.
Concha y Toro also participated in the 2017 internationally-renowned Vinexpo fair, which took place from June 18-21 in Bordeaux, France. Journalists, sommeliers, distributors and representatives from companies in the industry visited the Concha y Toro stand.
This year, the Origin Wines were introduced to the press and opinion leaders for inclusive one-on-one tastings with enologists Enrique Tirado and Marcelo Papa.
Enrique Tirado presented the 2014 Don Melchor vintage, Concha y Toro’s iconic Cabernet Sauvignon which has almost 30 harvests under its belt.
Marcelo Papa also introduced new products in the Marques de Casa Concha line from the Limarí and Biobío valleys. The newest wines participated in a comparative Chardonnay and Pinot Noir tasting.
Prominent personalities from the wine world served as tasting assistants at the event, including Steve Fernandes, sommelier at the renowned St. Regist de Abu Dhabi restaurant; Tan Ying Hsien, Singapur’s first Master of Wine and founder of the Taberna Wine Academy; Stephen Quinn, a prominent British wine writer; and Bruno Vianna, president of the Brazilian Sommelier Association.
Vinexpo is widely considered as the world’s most important wine and liquor fair. This year more than 2,300 speakers from 42 countries gathered to receive more than 45,000 international visitors.
